When the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct was broadcast last week, the Kirby Air Riders overturned my desire to go to the showcase for the worst and most likely. Since I waited eagerly with the disclosure of a Mario Cart 9 (which would prove to be the Mario Cart World) official with rumors, I secretly hoped that Kirby would be revealed as a new racer. As the desires are unlikely, it is fine, and I knew that going to live, it would never happen. But with the liking of the Legend of Zelda’s link, Animal Crossing: New Horizons Isabel, and Mario Cart 8 Delux, from Splaxes, have been dreaming about hitting the track for many years as my favorite pink puff ball. It was a real wild bango card situation from me, and of course, it didn’t come true, instead of which it offers the choice like Moo Medo cow and fish bone behind the wheel.
But then the announcement of Kirby Air Riders also came along and completely removed my wildcard’s desire from water. One fell, he responded to another long -standing prayer that I had never thought of expecting the first place. Not only is Kirby 2025 going on his racing adventure on Switch 2, but he is doing this in following one of my favorite game cube games all the time. 22 years later. As it is not enough, Kirby’s creator and original Air Ride Director Mashairo Sakurai is returning to bring our riders, which makes it all as much as a long -time fan who never thought that today would come.
Dream of a dream land
There were many interesting announcements during the revelation of Switch 2, from the choice of Donkey Kong banana to the new IP, disk bloods. But nothing has taken me away from the guard like Kirby Air Riders, and I am still digesting the news several days later. Although the original game of 2003 may not be considered included in the best game cubes games in wider circles, it has always been a strong favorite of me.
I have many memories that are going through the tracks, and from a young age as a Kirby fan (the land of Kirby’s dreams on the game boy was one of the first sports I can remember), on the game cube, Air Ride married my baby with pink puff hair, and my baby was married to my baby.
Mario Cart on SNES and N -64 had become the most important fixtures in my childhood, Mario Cart Double Dash maintained me firmly in the Racing Sen on Game Cube in late 2003. So when Air Ride roaming the UK after a few months, my father treated me with me and my sister with a copy, and I quickly took her to her curb -driven racing and fast page.
For starters, Kirby rides are not your average four wheels drives. The planet’s pop star’s pink blob leads to a variety of different air rides machines that have their own specific styles. From its signature yellow stars to multiple motorcycle-shaped options that take the same wheel, I can’t tell you how excited I am looking at some classic options in the new air riders trailer-including a truck-like wagon star and a wheelchair motorcycle.
Air Ride machines immediately set up a racing adventure of Mario Cart and other traditional car -shaped racing sports, in which I play so far (such as Mid Town Madness 3). I liked the way I really felt that I was swollen in the air, just as Kirby always did at the end of his classic platforming adventures.
In the Sakurai video series where He finds the Kirby Air Ride makingEven talks about the early desire that he had to create something that played on a fun sense of flowing into the racing games, and the team wanted to make sure all the machines “feel completely different”, which I think they got. Still, I remember how I would physically bend in every turn or hard turn of a course, when I failed to flow in good times, the crook collided on the sides of the track. But every generation felt fast and, thanks to the capabilities of the Kirby’s signature that it could breathe and use against competitive racers, enthusiasm was around every corner.

With some different methods, from the central 3D races with different types of tracks, to an old school’s top download races, I have many memories of walking in the free roaming city trail mode. Like an open field you can zip, you are free to find a short magic to find different vehicles, power ups, and items you find and will try to improve the other driving of the CPU Kirby. Sometimes, though, I will ignore the competition altogether and enjoy fast on the city’s streets.
Nintendo Bill Trainon, the US VP of Product and Player’s experience, recently said that the Kirby Air Ride is “ahead of its time”, and I think different ways and vehicles talk to it. In a sea of racing games, he felt his own self – thanks to copy capabilities and air riding machines – and it all works exactly for Kirby as a character. There is no doubt that the fact that Sakurai “was directly included in every aspect of the game”, as he described in his video series. No one knows the character at all, like his creator.
To find out that Sakurai is returning to bring Kirby Air Riders to us, Break in Bandai Namko along with Bruce Ultimat teamFollow -up not only makes an interesting possibility, but also makes it meaningful. The Kirby Air Ride was actually the last game of Kirby, which was directed before it was separated from the Hall Laboratory and was released. He monitored Kirby and amazing mirrors and curbed dreams in the dream land, and punk puff hair was never too far away, as he became a fighter in a central place in the super -breaking Bruce (I am naturally a curb). But on the next generation console of Nintendo, it is nice to see Sakurai back to the director chair after two decades for the Air Ride Sequel. This is something I have never predicted, but I am very happy that it is happening – not only for long -time fans like me, but also for the newcomers who will experience their special combination of Kirby’s racing magic.
So may not be involved in Kirby Mario Cart (I was just joking with myself), but Kirby Air Riders is that thing My Made of dreams. I can’t wait to see what it will draw from the original, and how it will bring the Kirby Air Ride into a new generation after 22 years. One thing is definitely: I’m so ready to return to the warp star in 2025.
