Chris Perkins and Jeremy Curford, two basements and Dragon Senior Game Designers, both have announced their departure from coastal wizards.
Perkins worked for 28 years in coastal wizards, which began as editor of Danjan Magazine before shifting to the game design, where he would eventually become a creative director. Perkins was the central story designer for the curse of Straud, so far the fifth edition (5E) the most famous adventure book written for Danjons and Dragon. The curse of the Straud 1983 module is 5E adaptation of Revenue Laft and is so popular that it has given rise to a fund that does not necessarily have to be overplaps with large -scale shrubs and dragons.
Two high profile departure
In a statement BluskyPerkins said goodbye to coastal wizards: “Today, I have retired from coastal wizards after 28 years. Gangbusters are doing with D&D’s 50th birthday.
A week later, Curford also confirmed to leave the company (Via Screenront) Curford transferred from an independent tabletop game designer to work for coastal wizards. It helped guide the design of the fifth edition of the Dangans and Dragon. He was also a lead designer to revise the player’s handbook in 2024.
Coastal Wizards say the time for these departures is deliberate, as the two have just finished working on the new basic principles of the game and found that this is a suitable stoping point, after which they are working on the dungeons and dragons after a joint 46 years.
However, fans are not convinced that departure is as inconsistent as each one claims. Although Perkins has worked on Dhunz and Dragons for more than two decades and may be creatively looking for something new, observers are worried about Carford’s departure.

The coastal wizards have already announced that James Weat and Weiss Schneider are ready to take over additional responsibilities after the departure of Curford and Perkins. Both Schneider and Viet have a long history in the tabletop RPG, though it is not known if they will develop in the old roles of the departure couple.
