There are a lot of talk about Nintendo Switch 2, which does not have enough new games at the time of launch, but I do not agree. Mario Cart World and Donkey Kong banana can only be two launch window games (and Only There is too much heavy lifting there) But when you consider all new things to do in older games, the switch 2 launch is not as low as it appears before.

Nintendo Switch 2 is setting a great example with cyberpank 2077.
I’m not just talking about the Switch 2 DLC for the Mario Party Jumbo, Kirby and Forgotten Land, and upgraded the recent Zelda entries. It also includes sports that were not available on the original switch (or at least not run very well). Mouse mode is going to be a game changer for many things, such as civilization 7 and call -off duty, while upgraded hardware will first modernize new, more demanding games on the switch.
In the Nintendo Switch 2 experience in Los Angeles last weekend, I noticed that all the new bells and whistles still jammed the new console in a relatively COMP compact frame. And when I’m excited for new sports like Mario Cart World and Mouse mode, but this thing really sold me to a switch 2 in a day when a customer, surprisingly, Cyberpank 2077.
Switch 2 is a major technical upgrade
I am not a great fan of Cyberpank 2077, so don’t think I’m here to finger it. When I first launched, I played just a dozen hours of it, and the only thing I really remembered about was to customize V and be disappointed that the small penis option was huge. CD project Red may not know it, but four and a half inches are actually considered average, thank you very much.
Where I was? Oh ok, cyberpank on switch 2. You may remember that Cyberpank was less than the ideal launch, to put it lightly in 2077. After issuing a large amount of refund, the game was removed from the PS4’s online store for more than five months as the CDPR hamored the patch after the patch. At the end of 2022, the studio stopped fully supporting the game on the last gene consoles, and since then it has not received a single update. Even after all this, it does not run very well on PS4. That’s enough to say, cyberpank 2077 is an incredibly demanding game.
That is why it was surprising to see the Nintendo Switch walking so easily. I know that the benchmark shows that the next Nintendo Handheld has the same performance as PS4, but if you switch 2 versions of PS4 and cyberpank, you choose the switch 2 version each time.
I am cheating a bit by saying this, because the switch 2 version includes the extension of the Fantam Liberty, which was never released on the PS4 or the Xbox One. Nevertheless, the Dog Town Switch 2 looks better than expected. It runs at 1080p enough smooth 30Fps while the performance mode is done, runs on a low -strength machine without any sign of any game, such as Eliasing, Screen Tearing, or Slow Randing. In fact, absolutely opposite. I left my way to push the console into its limits, causing some explosive chaos in a large group of NPCs, and I was not like a frame dip.

Taxis over Digital Foundry further testedAnd when they were able to identify some of the performance issues here and there, I can tell you as a person who knows enough about benchmarking to hurt himself, I had no problem. You will definitely not get the same experience you will do on the PC at the highest end, but the average person will have no complaints. I never considered what I would do with a switch that could play a game like Cyberpank, but now when I have seen it myself, I’m just thinking.
The switch has always been my third console. I play the game of Two Shooters and complex strategies on my PC, I play cinema adventures at my play station, and when I get stuck in the bathroom for Christmas and/or when I get stuck in the bathroom. I like switch and I like Nintendo Games, but in the six -year difference between each Zelda game, I mostly use my switch when I watch TV or hit the plane.
And now the steam deck has come along, I use it even less.
When I am deciding which version of the new multi -console game is to buy, the switch version is rarely on the table. I’m not ready to sacrifice the basic performance for portability just, especially when Nintendo’s own games do not play especially well.
With Switch 2, it doesn’t seem that we have to make the same agreement. If a game that looks amazing on PS5 still runs very good (just not Enough Amazing) On switch 2, why would I not play it on the switch? Once the portability of the switch becomes an advantage instead of trading, I can definitely see myself preferring to switch to other consoles.
Cyberpank 2077 is the best game to show the power of switch 2, and now I suspect that when people talk about sports that are best of switching, they will need to add more games than they use.
