Just two months after voting in favor of strike action on the microsoft negotiations with Microsoft, the Zenimx Workers United-CWA has announced a temporary deal agreement that has a new minimum salaries for employees, with a new salary, with a new salary, which is a matter of salaries.
“QA workers from all over the country are leading the industry charges of widespread change,” said Page Branson, a member of the Senior QA Tester and Zenimax Workers United-CWA Bargaining Committee. Announcement. “It is not a small feat to go to Monday with one of the world’s largest corporations. This is a memorable victory for all the current video game workers and then those who come.”
The Zenimx Workers United was formed in January 2023, and shortly afterwards negotiations began for the first deal, but it made limited progress in the next two years. In April 2025, members voted in favor of the union leadership that if there was any progress in the talks, they would demand a strike.
“If Microsoft and Zenmex have continued to demonstrate at the bargaining table that they are not ready to pay our workers proper wages for the price of our sports, we will show them how valuable our wages are.”
However, Microsoft said that “good progress” was made during the negotiations, adding that it had suggested to the union a “fair” that “if accepted, it would immediately increase the compensation, even more strong benefits and the company’s three -day hybrid model.”
This is not the end of the process: For more than 300 members of the union, the “contract description meetings” will take place in the next few weeks, and it is expected that the verification vote will end by June 20. By assuming votes in favor of the union (and I think it’s a beautiful safe assumption), it will be the first game industry contract in the United States, but it will certainly not last.
Pressure for unity in Game Studios in North America has taken up the main steam in the past one year: 600 Activation QA employees voted for the alliance in March 2024, while developers of Betasida Game Studios, including artists, designers and programmers, formed a “wall -to -wall” union, along with artists, designers and programmers. Earlier this year, around 200 Overwatch developers launched a union of the Overwatch Game Makers Guild. The game developers also launched the first industry wide union in North America in March 2025, which also open to anyone in the North American sports industry, “regardless of a studio and current job.”
