Evercade [OT] The physical retro cart format almost old enough to be retro itself

This title is for any debate around the Evercard format. Earlier, most of the ongoing discussions about the system can be found on the subject, which is now considered a legacy and will soon order high prices in the market: ‘Evercade Exp’ announced. IPS Screens, WiFi and Tate Form (Winter 2022 – 9 129.99 | $ 149.99 | € 149.99)

What is Evercade?
Evercade is a modern retro gaming format, initially released in 2020, with a common cartridge that works in various forms of hardware (because of being a combination of very few exceptions). If you like a slightly more unclear game in consoles, arcades and pre -PC home computers, and you want to collect physical games, Evercade is for you. If you like mini consoles and years mini -arcade cabinets, Evercade is like this but you can put more games in it.

It is manufactured by the cats and usually with the Evercade line technology is very solid. There is also a sister brand hyper mega tech that releases a type of hardware, super pocket, which is cheap but still quite usable.

What kind of sports are available on Evercade?
Generally, Evercade Games come in the available collection through the original publisher. Retro Games usually have 4 to 10 games on a basket, but at the age of 20 there are some clocks. Recently there have been a few playstations games that have been released on a cart, though the system also has random releases in publisher collections when they want to boast in about 32 bit games. Modern indi games are also being released here, sometimes on the first Evercade, but they have later appeared on other modern systems. They either have one or two games on a cart. There are some costs about Evercade because many sports have not been released since their original arcade or domestic computer formats, though there are arcade archives and some such overlaps.

Carts are divided into three subblines: Red for console games (including new Evercade Games), blue for domestic computer games and purple for arcade games.

Evercade-Carts.jpg

All the games are certainly licensed to IP IP holders, but since we are dealing with 30+ years old games, which usually means that modern giants now codes a boy in the British basement from that day, and yes, that a special guardian prince also goes from SN’s sports.

The price of Evercade Carts is usually 25-30 or € 25-30, and should be widely available in Europe and the United States shortly after the release. Note that vehicles are out of production, sometimes prematurely. Sometimes they do not do so – Interplaysk carts have been going on for years and are still available. Vehicles that become “inheritance” titles are more expensive, as like everything these days, but since they are too cheap to start, most of them can get less than $ 100.

In addition to vehicles, some hardware options come with built -in games that are permanently available in the system, but they cannot be played on other hardware variations. With a monthly rotating game, regular free games are also included by firmware updates. Earlier, these were mostly Indi games that were later deposited on the vehicles. There are also some hidden games through the fraud code.

Evercade has copied multiple systems such as 2600, Intelligence, Commodore 64, NES, Mega Drive/Genius, PlayStation, Nine-Geo and, technically, Nintendo 64, though there is a lack of many graphical features in the only sport (glovers). It also copies a lot of arcade hardware by the early 90s. Most of its Indi Games are actually a modern mega -drive release. Do not expect that DreamCast Games ever appears on the current generation of hardware.

So are the games exactly on Evercade?
Here is a full cart and gamelist on the official site that includes marked Ligasi Carts

In general, you will not see the biggest publisher here with competitive formats. Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo (apparently!) Or anything owned by Siga, which unfortunately includes many activities and Signsus classic and so on. European domestic computers and Japanese arcade developers have been emphasized. Once a repeated publisher is a packet, which somehow is really very unclear (and usually not very good) sports. In these vehicles, some remarkable all the time in the classic classic articles in the Classic, Canon Four, Speed Ball 2, PAC Main, Mr. Gamk, Another World, Flashback, Oforia, All PlaySub Rider Games, Blood Even: Ken’s inheritance, Batzoggan, Broken Sword 1 and Nine Games 1. But you are really not really aware of playing sports and you own five formats, you are really stumbling with some strange things.

Which vehicles should I choose?
Well, generally inheritance vehicles are not really worth the extra cost. There are some games that you have already lost, but there is nothing according to this post. My recommendations:

  • Collection of renovation 1 – Unclear mega -drive/genius titles, many of which through the team through the team and through the music through Motokuraba.
  • Irum Arcade 1 – The first accumulated shooter in the hunting by the subsequent metal slug team, and the classic R type feature.
  • Complete void – Another world with a modern indi game, one of a few solo carts. Although this is short, hey, Evercade Carts can be recarded.
  • Delphine Software Collection 1 – Both the world and the flashback are surprisingly well -even sustained.
  • Taplan Arcade 3 – You get a special version of Bittoggon and Balance, a bonfide shampy masterpiece, as well as a handful of other shooters. If you need further, get Arcade 4 Many. If you have a taste of Massusism, get the first two.
  • Sanoftt Collection 1 -8 -bit and 16 -bit sports are an unbalanced group, but Mr. Games and Blaster Master are worth the price.
  • Sanoftt Collection 2 – Mostly is only worth it for Ufuria.
  • The devil of Estburg and Estabros – Two excellent mega -drive games, a former platform hack Ann slash, like Ghosh Goblin, and the latter is a co -operation Metrovania Roguelak.

If you are involved in such things, there is also the first Tamb Rider Collection, Blood omen Collection, First Duke Name Collection and Broken Sword Collection. I have a soft spot for Jalico Arcade Collection, mostly because I love Roadland. Many people also swear by Galaxy Galaxy/Witchways and Alva’s awareness/catheterial indi carts, and there are many special indi, C64 and Intelligence Carts, along with some of the Amiga collections (though some traditional Amiga developer carts such as Delphine and Bit Map Brothers).

What are the hardware options for Evercade Games?
Well, the place is almost high at this point, but there are four separate flavors. The Evercade system has a built -in checklist to keep the game track you used, buttons wrapping, states and so on.

Evercade-ASP-R. JPG

Evercade Expl (. 99.99 | $ 99.99 | € 119.99)

The original Evercade is a medium -sized horizontal portable system. The first one has passed for a long time. Evercade Expl was a better version that included a group of Capecom Games that included SF2 Turbo, Megaman 2 and Breath of Fire. It has been closed, but can still be found. The current 2025 version is the Express, which has removed some features and built-in games but at an affordable price. Individually, it supports tet mode for applicable arcade games, and if you like such a thing, you have a more comfortable hold of a grip of a grip. Exp-R HDMI does not support out or additional controllers.

Evercad-vs.jpg

Evercade vs (. 89.99 | $ 99.99 | € 109.99)

The VS system is a regular console that is connected to your TV, which has four USB controller ports. Obviously the main attraction is to play on a TV, but it also has 2-4 player options (3-4 player mode is only supported on it). It also has two cart slots so you can make a wide range of sports together, and some of the vehicle combinations actually provide extra bonus games. The current VS-R is mostly the same, just with new colors.

Evercade Alpha. JPG

Evercade Alpha (9 229.99 | € 249.99 | $ 279.99)

It is a stand medium medium bartop arcade system, larger than mini -arcades like Tito Eg Etigan II mini but not full size. It comes with a large screen and full -sized arcade control. Like the VS it has two carts slots, but it also includes its own games. There are currently two cap work versions, each with a handful of sports that you see in Arcade Stadium combinations, and one Test version, mostly reuse things from super pocket. It also supports two players by using the same controllers like a VS, but it does not support HDMI.

Super Pocket-Cap Work-Snk.jpg

Super Pocket (£ 49 | $ 59 | € 59)

The super pocket is like a small game boy. It is smaller and cheap to fit in your pocket, but still plays every Hercade game (though it also has exceptions that have been in the patch over time). The screen is very good of its size, but it can be difficult to play some games like Bitsuggan. The shoulder buttons also have to be avoided, though technically they work. Nevertheless, there is an abundance of super pocket editions, which are coming. Currently, the cap comes in work, tito, data estate, seat, SNK and technos flavors. Some of the tito games are now coming to the carts, and the previous data, descending/links and technos games that are now on the legisi carts are also available here, so are clearly revolving around the license. Super Pocket is not amazing standstone system, but if you have also invested in VS or Alpha, this is a great way to make your library portable, and you find a reasonable part of sports. Also an excellent gift option.

How is the construction standard?
Usually the consoles are strong and the controllers are good. If you take them out when you update them, there is a problem to damage the carts (because the carts can be patch through new firmware updates, and the UI is not more clear about it). Over the years, there have been other problems, as has been bleeding on the screens, mostly on the old edition. Also, some of the first carts will be able to run except the Explor. Overall, you get the higher price you are paying, but you are not paying too much.

Is Evercade a secure investment?
In terms of future New New Games, perhaps, if you like the kind of things it already has. It has been running very well for five+ years. Riding in SNK was a huge thing, but again there are also Namako, Cape works and ticket games. Blaze releases two vehicles in most months, though in 2024, its support was a bit of a shaking.

In terms of money… maybe not? The games are cheap and they get out of production, but later the vehicles have given the trend to rotate. Don’t expect any luck to recover these games in line. It is now comfortable in its niche, so people must have stored on anything available. Also, may not expect to be completed at this point, both because of the legacy vehicles and because no one is really interested to surround all these topics.
