- Moto tags finally supports the ultra -wide band tracking
- It brings an Android Find Hub Tracker equivalent to Apple’s Air Tag
- No word yet when other Find Hub Trackers will support UWB
Google’s Find Hub – Finds my device before – has always been a skilled Android alternative to find useful Apple, which has both Android and iOS options to find your lost tech. But so far, Google’s service lacks an important feature: extremely wide band finding.
Find Hub can help you find your phone, headphone, compatible Bluetooth tracker, and even close friends and family, with an app. If you have not used the service (in recognition, it may feel a bit hidden behind Google’s well -known Android apps) This is a useful one -stop finding shop that you would like to add to your home screen.
However, it lacks Apple’s basic benefits that look for my service: Ultra wide band tracking.
This upgraded variety of Bluetooth tracking allows your phone to track the exact location of the tag more accurately. Instead of getting more or closer to the lost tag, the app can give you a lot of directions and distances thanks to UWB. But so far, no search hub devices have presented UWB as an option.
Now, finally, Moto tags thank a firmware update, as seen by it through Android police. Once installed by the Moto tag app (currently rolling through the Play Store), you can launch the Find Hub app, and the latest tracker will be discovered via UWB.
You will also need a high -end smartphone. While a few years old devices support UWB, this feature is special for premium models like Google Pixel 6 Pro, and Samsung Galaxy S11 Plus and Ultra. Unfortunately, the standard flagship lacks the feature right now.
Hopefully, as other UWB trackers arrive for Android, there will be more reason to support budget -friendly devices. For now, it seems that Moto’s tag is the only UWB device that helps the found hub.
Beyond UWB, Google’s Find Hub is also ready to get help from some devices using the satellite “this year’s end” (via Via via. Google’s blog), To make the service more useful than that time. This will not only catch Apple, but will also take the lead effectively.
