As much as I love my Nintendo Switch and Steam Deck, I am not sure that the handheld gaming console exercise has been closely amazing since Nintendo’s game boy.
Certainly the need for batteries and the original model construction was not ideal, but subsequent models made Cosin more pocket. And the Game Boy Advance SP pushed it further with a sharp design.
Foldable phones moved ahead, giving a big screen of gaming, but also a device that fits into the jacket pocket. But the software and gaming experience has not yet been completed. And for the proper modern gaming power, someone needs a large console.
So what is the solution? Well, I think this can be a foldable console.
Looks a bit weird? But my fellow managing editor and gaming fan, Josi Watson, got a look at the Samsung display foldable console concept. Check the video below.

I have to say that I am not sold on this design. Generally, I am skeptical about such concepts. Last year, we saw a flexible display that could almost be worn as a science -like smart watch and I was not convinced.
But a foldable console that takes the switch styling design and helps make it more pocket size.
Obviously, there will be cooling concerns and how much performance can be removed from such a device. Nevertheless, mobile tech has cleverly made enough progress to divide the chapents into the module and use batteries that are separated but provide a pool of electricity to tap it.
So I feel that foldable games have more room for console to become a practical reality.
And what’s the matter, I think Microsoft may be the one to perform it, because of this, it is in partnership with Samsung before the gaming side. I just don’t expect this rumor will be with the Xbox Handheld.
If nothing else, I am still happy to see that the Samsung display is coming up with interesting ideas, especially when the mainline company is stepping up on the path to release the product, as has been seen with the Samsung Galaxy S25.
