The EA left the developers in many of its studios last week, and when the company did not specify the exact number of the affected people, reports showed that “between 300 and 400” jobs were cut. Now, EA CEO Andrew Wilson says he is hopeful about the future because the company has invested heavily in AI.
At the end of your developed remarks during the EA Q4 2025 Financial Income Call“I also want to take a moment to talk about how AI is giving strength to our future,” Wilson said.
The EA has been drowned about AI since 2023, praising it as “the main center of our business”, from recognizing the “fear” of the tech around the tech. We know that the EA used the “The Power of AI” to create the faces of thousands of players in a wild college football 25, and the use of tech is now looking far beyond that.
“In our teams,” Wilson continued in the financial call, “We are investing in new workflows and abilities to enhance the AI to enhance the scale and personal experiences, from an incredible scale from the world of sports to the sports world and the team.”
The idea that AI will eventually help automate more painful parts of game development – such as creating thousands of faces for college sports games – is not really controversial at this point. Even Baldor’s Gate 3 boss Swin Wank, which is clearly spoken about other matters of the industry, has admitted that AI “can be a device we use to help us work faster.” But Vanke is not sure “it will replace the creative aspect of development ever.”
I am not sure that EA is making the same discrimination. Wilson said, “Our developer is using AI to advance the boundaries of design, animation and storytelling that is possible,” said Wilson, “We have to help supply deep, highly deep gameplay. This is about promoting the power of this technology to unlock new possibilities for the future of interactive entertainment. “
Wilson concluded his remarks, recognizing “close -term economic uncertainty”, but cited things like “well -known IP, transformative technology, a global network of enthusiastic players, and the best creative capabilities in the industry” because the company has never been more hopeful. “Somehow, I suspect that the developers shared this hopefulness throughout the company.
The CEO of Haldures 2 says the industry’s leave. The executives have seen “little accountability” by executives who “let one -third of the company let go because you have made stupid decisions.”
