Apple told last year’s amazing, Apple Intelligence firmly in today’s corner and instead iOS 26, Wachos 26, TVOS 26, Macos 26, and iPados 26 (Apple’s new operating system is now a new name, which reflects that they reflect this year’s WDC).
In fact, the entire key note permanently built the show’s original star, the iPad. The new winding system on the new iPados 26 looks as if it is finally able to easily switch between multiple running apps, and also includes a menu bar, which is sensitive to context, which is also in the preview of the app.
This is mainly less than a major iPad to a larger iPhone and like a very lightweight and portable Mac. It will certainly not run Mac Mac software, but it will eventually work like one, especially when the keyboard and trackpad will be plugged in.
The iPados 26 also receives its own version of the preview app from Macos to watch with the PDF, and a new file app that is more powerful and like Finder.
The iPad upgrade of Apple’s software engineering senior vice president, Craig Federgie has received the most dynamic response so far.
Federgie persuaded about the new iPados 26 when I introduced Apple Intelligence last year to us, calling it a “largest iPados release so far.”
And there was no new hardware from Apple! I was at least hoping to upgrade the home pod, but this year everything was different from the OSS.

Where was AI?
Where was the Apple Intelligence in the Key Note? In the beginning it was a slight recovery, focusing on that Apple Intelligence features were actually released by Apple last year, you know, genocide, writing tools, summary of notification, etc., and then it ended in the background.
Certainly, Apple Intelligence was mentioned frequently in Apple’s key note, which gives strength to some of the most advanced features in the display, such as visual intelligence now every time you take a screenshot, or when a group chat can be a good idea of voting, or even allowing you to make your original chat.
But Apple Intelligence, which was a new kid on the block last year, has now become another part of Apple’s operating system furniture.
There was no talk about a fully AI -powered Siri, or the new features of Apple Intelligence, although there were some minor things like direct translation and new AI -powered shortcuts.
Stands in the shadow
But maybe the background is the place where Apple Intelligence is really? It is fair to say that thanks to the Open AI and Google with Chat GPT and Gemini, the world has gone crazy for AI. It is almost impossible for companies involved in the unlimited possibilities offered by AI.
And still, are people actually seeking AI in Max, iPads and iPhones? With all the features of Apple Intelligence that Apple has released over the past year, I really don’t use any of them regularly, if not at all.
I played around with genitals for a day, then got bored. Attempts to summarize very short text messages of the notification summary were very disturbing, instead I read only the original message, which in most cases was just a few words long.
I use AI every day, but I prefer to use it within the full features of Google and Open AI, which works fine on my iPhone and advanced Advanced Advanced Advanced Advanced Voice methods. For me, this is the place where the AI really shines, and not when it comes to me to rewrite my emails, or try to read.
Apple showed a key detail in this year’s WWDC 2025 that I think can change the game for Apple Intelligence. With iOS 26, Apple is making its foundation AI models framework available for the first time developers.
Now, although it does not seem like big news yet, it will mean that the app developers will be able to integrate AI into their apps forward. The possibilities here are endless, and clearly, I think developers will work better than Apple with Apple’s creative methods of use.
At a time when investors must start walking around because it seems that Apple opened the ball to the developers on AI, by opening Apple, Apple must have just saved its future.
