You will probably be familiar with the Japanese art of ‘Kintsugi’, the literal meaning ‘golden repair’. Cantcigi Part Philosophy, Part Art Form. The story itself is also decent – though I would recommend you playing the English language on a deep state, if you do not mind all the titles, because some of the English VO is a bit… weird. Japanese/Portuguese mixes are great, though, and in reality keep me in the mind of the show. The vision is excellent for the art direction and cinematics of Ubisoft, and here are some early difficulties that are present in the profession of the best killers so far. Seriously screams at the Japanese psychological rock band tech here, as the Tantino-Aisis Websis that they bring to some important scenes are noteworthy.
But, for every iota of praise, there is something else to consider. It takes some time to go to the story. I think this game really opens in 12+ hours, thanks to a sweet sarcasm and many exhibition dumping. However, it does it well. By the time you are loose into the real (huge) open world, you feel quite worthy of Naoe, and you start to grip with Yasuka.
From there, the way the game encourages you to turn from character to character is a masterclass in packing. Whether you are fading the story, or chewing on the global map, there are constant opportunities to change and play like anyone else. I probably got 70/30 spiral naoes for Yasoka (I like stealth, okay) but whenever I had to play as a big man, I saw myself laughing, equipped some powerful gear that I picked up for him, and whatever faulty militia thought it was unprecedented.

Even most of the killer’s profession formula has been played in the shade. It is as if the Ubesoft broke the ‘Calcables Mission’ into the parts of their components, decorating Wats and Watts to smell 100 wings or anything, and then rebuilt it from there. Yes, you have to find and deposit the burden of the orangi cranes, but… okay, the way the mission comes out (no pin intended) is a real surprise. I won’t say anything more here, but it just gives UB a big number in my book.
Then there is a base building. You really, if you want, can ignore it, but the game likes to pile you a pile of rewards when you are involved in improving your abode. In addition to exposing some of the narrative Brad Crimbus and exposing some good character work, the sports base of the game allows you to bring more allies into fighting, upgrade your weapons, get more efficient healing items, get discounts in shops, and to do much. When you are doing other things, you fill the resources, so it doesn’t interfere (and in fact I keep me in mind some of the better brotherly mechanics).
Then there are moments that force you to slow down the shadows. Want to unlock more layers in the RPG-Light System where do you throw all your collected skills points? Well, to do so, you need to visit the temples, collect forgotten scrolls, and see the dynamic images of 11 seconds from YSAUKE or Naoe at various shrines. Rinse, repeat. If this is not your taste, go and practice meditation like a Naoe, or learn cuts as Yasuke. These works are dim. Repeated time events masked as a braining technique.
But do you know what? They work! Because they work, as a player, you order the pace of the game. After hitting a whole retinio rental in the palace, sometimes it looks good to hear the cakedas in the jungle, listen to the water in the pond, see the sun burst from the sun through a cedar forest umbrella. It is authentic – as there are many shadows – what you will expect from Hassan’s credit ‘Disneyland’ on the Japanese island.

The shadows are beautiful too. I played on the PS5 Pro, mostly in quality mode, because I couldn’t stop drinking alcohol in the visuals. At least once in a game session, I would literally put my controller down and give Vista next. I think my favorite in the fall of four cycling is my favorite, just for the contradiction between colors and all series, Ombri, bottle green, Sky Blue… it’s amazing. A letter of love for Japan’s natural surprise, and perhaps the order of my favorite killer’s profession (sorry, Odyssey) to date.
I would say that the mechanical use of the seasons is minute. In marketing, Ubesoft has promised that different season will allow you to provide different opportunities to reach large missions, allow you to follow new ways to hide, you will expose more in the cold light of the day, etc. No. Not really I didn’t change my play style from the weather at all-though I would sometimes slip down the mountain in the snow in winter, which was disturbing. Your mileage may vary, but the weather looks at least very different and offers some variations when you are rotating in A to B.

‘Kintsugi’ is often linked to the concept of ‘Wabi-Sabi’, which is customary to accept the nature of variation and incomplete. I really feel that the shadows embrace these two principles. It doesn’t try to fix what he knows it may not be better. There are some parts of the killer’s profession formula that are baked in them, naturally poor, beyond recovery. But that’s fine, because – when they are accepted for it – Ubisft shines them.
Certainly, the killer’s profession faces difficulties in the shadow. But it is a lot of fun to play, it is telling a fascinating story, and you have so much sense of development and reward for each of your small tasks that it really feels like an open world game that is taking its gestures from modern pathology or something else. Every action means, and Brad Crabs that persuade you to clear all the icons on the map are more. It may be one of the biggest killers’ profession sports so far, but it also seems to be the most good.
I’m actually at the place where I am experiencing very little problems with the game, because – most of the time – I know that it will be interesting at the other end. This is a high definition for any work of art, but in the video game … it really feels something special.
