- Nintendo Switch 2 will only support VRR using its built -in display
- A recent statement of Nintendo confirmed this
- It follows the confusion about VRR Support in Dock Mode
Nintendo has confirmed that the only variable refresh rate (VRR) will be supported in its built -in Switch 2.
This comes when the company has quietly removed VRR support mentioned in document mode from its US and Canada support websites. It was then removed from the equivalent European support websites.
The website has previously said, “This system also supports HDR, VRR, and frame rates up to 120 FPS on synchronous TV.” It was updated to read: “This system also supports up to 120 FPS rates on HDR, VRR, and compatible TVs.”
We already know that the VRR has the support of the console built -in screen, but this change has left some potential buyers thinking whether this system will actually support the VRR when it is in the dock.
Nintendo has finally clarified the situation in a statement provided Nintendolifa. The statement begins, “Nintendo Switch 2 supports VRR only in handheld mode.” “Invalid information was initially published on the Nintendo Switch 2 website, and we apologize for the error.”
This can be bad news if you already have a hand on the best gaming TV or monitor, many of which offer VRR support. Technology dynamically adjusts the screen refresh rate to meet your sports frame rate, reduces the tearing, and gives the overall impression of ease.
It has been endorsed by both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and Series and has become a popular option for auxiliary display gamers. Like in the title The killer’s profession shadowFor example, we have learned that activation of the VRR has more pleasant experience.
The Nintendo Switch is ready to launch on June 5, 2025. Both the UK’s pre -order and the US pre -order are alive.
