Hey surviving! Here your favorite dying light franchise director.

In Techland this has been a very wild month! We are in the thickness that I am calling “dying light summer”, providing updates and big news in the three dying light games. A few weeks ago, we dropped the first game play for the dead light: The Best revealed its release date, and finished pre -orders (if you haven’t seen it, check my Last giant blog) I am amazingly proud of what I am developing with animals – this is the end of more than 10 years of experience in the survival horror of the open world!

But the point here is: We never forget where we have come from. That is why, this week, we are just not waiting – we are producing important updates for both the real dying light and the dying light 2: Be human. We have promised to support our sports for a long time, and we are determined to continue this help, the beginning of the dying light and beyond: The Best.

In January, when we celebrated the 10th anniversary of the dead light, I announced that we were working on a new refreshing work for the real dying light. Ten years later and the game that started all this is still strong! When I saw the video online the next day, my heart left a beating. Some of you were expected to have some kind of full remaster.

So, let’s set a direct record: re -update is about squeezing even more than dying light you already like. This is not a complete over hall or reminder.

Even without refreshing, the dying light is still well intact – just imagine that she’s 10 years old! But to tell me what we have changed, I sat down with the intelligent minds that presented it: our technical game director, Gurzgurz Vistosky, and Kurzetv Nafil, lead 3D Artist:

“One of the best things about working with your own engine is that the people who build it are at the next door,” said Girzgorz Vistosky, our technical game director. “In the last two years, we have added a lot, customized, and we have learned how to squeeze more from the tech. One day, someone just started applying them to some old assets – and he just clicked that we could do it throughout the game.”

So we put some other people on it. We began to increase the quality of the surrounding structure and to increase the game faster, better look. “These were a lot of manual tasks – but increasing the structure resolution or quality can have a lot of impact on how the environment appears on the screen,” said Karzitov Nafil. Just look at these wooden wall panels!

Karzitov just spent a lot of time by adjusting and tweeting assets manually, squeezing every last part of the visual quality. A large part of this includes improving lighting and PBR (physics -based rendering). “With so many years of experience with PBR, we are improving how metal surfaces reflect light or physically react to the world, which makes them look very realistic!” You can see the difference on the metal hanging walls below.

We have also made some small opportunities and changes to the code, which has a major impact on the details in the dialogue. “We have increased the maximum LOD (description level) range from 260 % to 340 % in the View Distance menu in the game options. This means that the players who are operating on modern and better systems can increase the distance of the most detailed assets loaded in the game and increase their burden on GPU/CPU.

But one of the biggest differences will appear on the floor and cement walls. We are introducing a new 8K Ultra Shadow quality and improving many levels of lighting options and with these new shadows, many levels that seemed to be flat instead of earlier are now really popouts and get depth!

Beyond how it looks, we wanted to dial the very environment of Hiran. Sounds and music are very important for immersion, and we have gone out to make it an experience. The teacher, the original composer, the Paye Blask, returned to give a full remistrator to the sound track. Get it: Even he recovered this retro tape sound by recording on the tape! Talk about dedication. It is authentic, old memories and absolutely terrific.

We have made the whole game in all new tracks and integrity sounds, deepened the mood and increased the tension with your detection. And we used the hit reaction audio seriously in the fight. Every swing, every crush, every zombie tech down will look more satisfying, more efficient. You will feel the hit.

Many of you have been asking about the refreshment of the last few months – where it was, why it took such a long time. Here is an honest answer: We were working with 10+ years old technology. Even despite all the new experiences we have achieved in the past years, find out how to apply these learning to the real dying light engine, while keeping everything stable was a challenge.

And let me tell you, it was a large amount of manual work. Krizzotov literally became the Hiran’s controversial master: “I basically passed through the whole map, looking to improve the assets. And they all had to change manually by our artists.”

Significantly, we also made the top priority not to change the needs of the game system. “You can’t just crank the details and hope that it still works on each system,” Gurzgurz explained. “Especially on the consoles-we were very testing to ensure that we did not end memory on the last generation consoles.” It was a delicate balance, but we broke it. And now? It’s finally ready!

Ding Light: PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X | The retuped update for all the light owners who died on S will be completely free and will expire on June 26, 2025. The surface of the changes may vary in terms of the platform.

Withdrawing before the release of the dining light: Animals This is the best time if you haven’t played the dining light yet is the best time to jump back into Kyle Crane’s original story. And even if you have, it is able to go back to Hiran.
