In its third round this year, the EA has canceled its single player Black Panther game and closed the developer Cliffing Games.
First notified IgnDevelopers of Cliffinger Games and other EA employees received an email from EA Entertainment President Laura Mile, stating that the purpose of the departure, cancellations and other organizational changes is “accelerating our attention and keeping our creative energy behind the key growth opportunities.”
The exact number of the affected employees is not clear at the time of writing, but the IGN has reported that it is less than 300-400, which was laid as part of the EA’s April Reconstruction.
In addition to the entire cliffing staff, members of the EA mobile and central teams were also allegedly affected by these recent holidays.
“These decisions are tough,” Mile wrote. “They affect those with whom we have worked, learned, and the real moments are shared with it. We are doing everything possible to help them – including looking for opportunities within the EA, where we have helped people get into new roles.”
The EA announced Black Panther in January 2023, when it was revealed that the newly abroad studio cliffs will handle the single player of the Henjar Games Marvel Superhero franchise.
It has not been revealed since then, but it has been described as the third person’s game, which gives players “maximum control” on Black Panther’s fate, more than that, in more rhetorical sports, suggest the open world factor.
Mile’s email states that EA Moto’s Iron Man Game and Third Star Wars: Jedi will continue to invest in the game, but moving forward will focus on a small number of many franchises, including the battlefield, Sims, Sketches and Apex Legends.
I have reached the EA for comment and if I hear, I will update this article.
