Former Sony Interactive Entertainment President Shohi Yoshida has revealed that he agreed to the previous creator Gran Tourism Kazonori Yamochi to eliminate the game’s fake elements.
Speaking in a recent interview with PlayStation insideYoshida was asked to touch his biggest moments with his career at the PlayStation. Briefly after discussing this Gammapani’s award -winning game JourneyTo which he was “really proud to play a role in his imagination”, the former PlayStation Boss revealed that he “partially saved” the origin. Gran Tourism.
Yoshida said, “In my career, to talk about ‘success’, which is not mentioned enough, if, of course, I will give you a story that I have never told you in the public.
“These were the early days of the first PlayStation, and Kazonori Yamuchi was working first Gran Tourism. You will remember that on the cover he said that the game was ‘real driving simulator’. And you know, I’m not a game designer, I’m the first and most important producer.
“During the development, Kazonori Yamuchi showed me a prototype of Gran Tourism, and I was among the first people to play it. And to tell you the truth, when he spoke about imitation, he was really serious!”
Yoshida explained that what he played because of realism was “very advanced, probably too much,” but this did not happen until Yamuchi used his comments to compromise the 1997 game.
He said, “Kazonori Yamuchi did not take my opinion at a facial price, so he gathered near thirty consumers to test the game. And as I expected, they all crashed at the first point without any discount, because the game play was very difficult.”
“I was in the back of the room with Kazonori Yamochai, on this occasion he turned to me and told me that I was fine, and at the same time when he put a slightly pure fake aspect to the Gran Torism, who knew today on PS1.
“In a way, I would like to think that I partially saved the fate of Gran Tourism, and that I played a small role in its success.”
In the same interview, Yoshida touched the Nintendo Switch 2 and said that the recent increase in sports costs “is going to be sooner or later” due to inflation and production costs, but thinks that “production costs and sports prices should be balanced”.
