The world’s largest union, which represents actors in many industries, is pursuing the SAG-Eftra epic sports. This comes when Epic launches an AI Dartwader chat boot in Fortnite, which allows players to speak to the role, which uses the sound of the late James Earl Jones.
In response, the SAG-AFTRA has launched an unfair labor practice charge against Lama Production, an epic contracting company, to replace human actors with AI. This came when the SAG-AFTRA continues its strike against the gaming industry, which is high concerns about the AI working in sports.

“We celebrate the right of our members and their properties to overcome the use of their digital copies and welcome the use of new technologies so that the new generations can share these heritage and well -known characters.” Description Reads “However, we have to protect our right to bargaining the terms and conditions around the use of sound, which replaced the work of our members, who previously worked to meet the famous rhythm and tone of the Dartwder in the video games.”
It is cited the fact that Wadir, the most famous actor to photograph James Earl Jones, agreed to make a copy of his voice through AI for Obi Van Kinobi. The agreement also meant that his voice could be copied after his death, his family had approved cooperation with Fortatite.
However, Jones is far from the only actor to photograph. Scott Lawrence has the most credit for Wader in video games, which plays the role of survivors in the 1994 Star Wars: Tie Fight, Star War Jedi: 2023. Since the sound of Lawrence we usually hear in a video game, it makes sense that SAG-Eftra considers that it considers AI theft work by a human actor.
In a statement, the SAG-AFTRA says the EPIC did not talk to the union before playing Ai Wader in his game. The SAG-AFTRA announcement also named the EPIC was that its members would be invading against the industry, which cited the failure to protect the actors from the growing use of generative AI.
Epic Games have not yet responded to the SAG-Aftra statement.
