Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin calls The Winds of Winter the “curse of my life” after admitting it’s “13 years late”, but offers a tiny glimmer of hope: “I have periods where I make progress”

George RR Martin’s sixth book in a song of ice and fire in his fantasy series has been enough for a long time in its fixed date. Now, the author – acknowledging that it is more than a dozen years old – offers the latest update about how to work alongside winter winds.

When pressed Time On how the winter winds are going on, Martin said, “This is the curse of my life. There is no doubt that the winter winds are delayed by 13 years. I am still working on it. I have periods where I develop and then other things divert my attention.”
