Nintendo took a keen eye on the next Nintendo Switch 2 during its latest Nintendo Direct presentation, showing the system’s hardware and new features. After that, the company described some of the console springs in detail, including its battery life.
According to a specified sheet on the personnel Nintendo websiteSwitch 2 battery life will be between 2-6.5 hours on the same charge. Nintendo says the range is a “rough estimate” and depends on numerous terms, which games you are playing. The company also confirmed that it would take about three hours to completely charge the switch 2 when it is in sleep mode.
For reference, the switch 2 battery life is in the same balpark that returned for the first time in March 2017 in the original switch. The launch model’s battery continued between 2.5-6.5 hours on a single charge, while the revised model, which was released in 2019, improved the battery life for 4.5-9 hours. The switch OLED model is similarly between 4.5-9 hours on the same charge.
In addition to the detail of the system’s battery life, Nintendo showed several other new features, in which Switch 2 is proud of its predecessor, which includes Joey with mouse functionality and screen sharing. The switch 2 game cards are also sharp and come in a different color, and select Switch 1 games will receive free and paid updates for the new console.
