I strongly feel this AI-powered demo of Quake 2 is an insult to life itself

Microsoft has developed a competent version of a game of earthquake 2 that runs on Generative AI. The “game” can not last more than two minutes, it has very little frame rate, has irresponsible control, and is full of fading textures. But Microsoft’s artificial intelligence is proud of the prototype that he has made it able to run online. Would you like to experience novel type discomfort? Come with me

Demo is able to run Microsoft’s Coopelot SiteWhere they note that “co -malts can make mistakes”. It only works with keyboard controls and will indicate you with a popup message after two minutes saying that the timed demo is over. You can reload the page to play it again.

“In this real -time tech demo, the copelot dynamically develops a gameplay set by the classic game earthquake II,” reads a fading. A neighboring Microsoft website. “Every input that you make up to the next AI-invaluable moment in the game, as if you are playing the original earthquake II on a traditional game engine.”

One of these screenshots is actually an earthquake 2, the other is AI Demo. I’ll let you guess.

What is really visible and felt is a very stubbornness that is through the unrealistic slogan of the 90s shooter surface. The enemies sometimes appear and you should shoot them in an uncontrollable number before you die, though sometimes it seems that they will re -create. Arriving near the wall and then withdrawing a triple of your surroundings will be restructured. It is like playing a bad dream of an earthquake. It is as if John Karmak’s sad dreams have been trapped in the sad dreams of the VR.

If you would like to see it instead of playing it, Mogol Jeov Kagali’s marketing Tweet a demonstration Of technology, as our sister site Urugamar Indicate. Not surprisingly, he did not receive a positive response from his followers, many of whom work in an industry where jobs and livelihoods are in danger of this technology.

Demo is powered by Microsoft’s music tech, which is the result of corporate giant research departments that stand with AI to help “game ideology”. AI’s modeling on the earthquake and its sequel is understood by a point of view, as it is an important shooter with solid rules for enemy competitions and surface design. The basic rules of the modern First Person Shooter were founded by these games.

Still, as a fan of the long -term earthquake map -making scene, I play this demo and feel something that is curious and unpleasant, and it is probably 90 % later. I like it better when the “IDS” is done by people with a lot of good work, who in recent years a legal earthquake. There are seconds to create.
