The Xbox is allegedly working with PC hardware giant ASUS to create its first handheld console, which can be released at the end of 2025.
This news came from Jez Cardin in the publication of our siblings Windows CentralWhich has reported that his sources have confirmed the reporter’s claim On Tom Warren Verge That the Xbox Handle – apparently called Code will be made in partnership with Canon – ASUS.
All this is after a report a few days ago that the Xbox is allegedly working with a mysterious manufacturer to launch PC gaming handheld this year.
From a fully logical point of view, ASUS has greatly meaning as a hardware partner, provided it already contains the ROOG allies, which is a quite strong Windows 11 hand -handed PC that can play the Xbox Game PC Catalog and play through a cloud -driven series.
And as Cardin is reported, the Xbox Handheld resembles a disease ally in many cases, just with design indicators that make it more than a device that is affiliated with the Xbox brand. I would expect the Xbox Wireless Controller button to look at the Layout and am mobilized with the shining Xbox Home button.
“According to our trusted sources, Canon will combine the Asus styling with the latest design conventions, which is more specific to the ‘Xbox’ styling device, with more prominent grip and a dedicated Xbox Guide -style button,” Carden said.
A perfect ally?
But keeping the logic aside, this information raises one of my eyebrows. First of all, it can be just a new disease ally, even a complete second -generation model that can have more firmly integrated Xbox elements rather than having an Xbox first machine.
My fellow Matt Hanson, a managing editor of Core Tech in Tekradar, told me that he thinks a complete Xbox Centric -Central Rogue Eli type machine is unlikely, though the Xbox Branded version of Windows 11 has been noted that is better for handhelds.
I am inclined to agree with this theory because it leads me to my second point: I expect an dedicated Xbox handheld to run the Xbox operating system instead of anything, which is practically practical to Windows 11. This approach will potentially connect the hardware with the software and cut the overheads required to operate the operating system fully on existing ROG ally models.
Equally, I would be surprised if Asus has to make a pathogell an ally that does not have the full support of Windows 11, and thus PC gaming services and stores have full access to the extent. So I can definitely see that the choice of the next general rogue lies on Windows 11 is better for handheld gaming, which is currently.
On the Philip Side I could also see that Microsoft has its own Xbox Handheld with an interface like the Xbox Series X. It can still be made to hardware by ASUS but software from the company has no involvement.
Such a machine will be made to run Xbox Games instead of placing heavy PC element, after which the aforementioned hardware and software integration can be expected from the handheld PC.
“I could also see Microsoft that it had its own Xbox Handheld with the Xbox Series X -like interface.”
This is something I want especially because it would be key to stand by another handheld PC for such an Xbox device, in which everyone has access to the Xbox Gaming platform in some way.
However, these reports show that the Xbox handheld will be designed to run PC title instead of local Xbox Games.
So maybe my speculation may not weigh over, especially with Microsoft, apparently trying to better connect the Xbox Environmental system with Microsoft One.
After being given, the disease ally is allegedly the best Valve Steam Deck’s closest competitor, I think Asos will probably be the best hardware partner for the Xbox Handheld. But I hope that whatever device is cooked, the handheld is slightly different from the current crop of PC and instead plays some clean and smart design language visible in Microsoft’s surface devices.
Time will tell how it plays it all but Microsoft is working on a handheld game console with Xbox Boss Phil Spencer, we can see something soon.
Here and now, if you want to play Xbox Games on a handheld, Rog Eli is probably your best bet, but with a little patience and digging you can get the Steam Deck to run the Xbox Cloud Gaming in an effective way. That’s how I finished the main struggle of the Starfield some time ago, so let it go.
