For almost two years, as the proud owner of the iPhone 15, since I’ve purchased it, I had no problem with the handset. It runs exactly for my needs – music, YouTube, texting and The aimless Domscroweling Social media – and without interruptions integrate with my Apple’s other devices.
In addition to its supporters and a handful of Android rivals, the iPhone was at the top of the 15 line when I purchased it. I have been paid right now, so I reduced the AU $ 1,499 (99 799 / £ 799) to buy it completely to replace my broken iPhone 12 mini.

The iPhone 16 has upgraded a bigger upgrade than its predecessor thanks to the rise of Apple Intelligence – even if its launch has been less than smooth, many parts of the promised Siri upgrade are still in the air.
Nevertheless, the iPhone 15 2025 is an excellent smartphone, which is why when I found here for AU $ 1,077 in Australia, he grabbed my eye where I am living (which changes to about $ 692 / £ 519). Similarly, abroad are similarly attractive deals, such as in the United States, where it is only $ 100 when switching to T -Mobile.
However, in February, Apple threw a curve ball in the iPhone 15 when it introduced another option for the loyalists of the Capetino when it launched the iPhone 16 E to 9 599 / £ 599 / aU $ 999.
Like the three models of the iPhone 5C and the iPhone SE, this new ‘budget’ Apple Handset has given small incentives to keep the price low, while buyers are still allowed to buy a new iPhone that can access the latest iOS features. The iPhone 16E is more interesting than its SE’s leaders, as it offers the power to handle Apple Intelligence.
This creates an interesting relationship – if I need a new phone and do not want to spill on the iPhone 16, which device is better choice: iPhone 15, or iPhone 16 E?
Tikradar has an entire iPhone 16 e -iPhone 15 comparison article based on this question, and the result is that, for most people, it is able to spend a little extra and go for the old iPhone 15.
But after spending a week with the iPhone 16E, I disagree.
Better battery, babe
For many smartphone buyers, the camera quality is key – but to me, the battery life is much more important and the iPhone 16 E dominates this category on the iPhone 15.
Although Apple does not disclose the exact capacity of the battery, third -party reporting shows that the iPhone 16 E has a battery of 3,961mah compared to 3,349mah of iPhone 15.
It is not just a large size that lasts 16E for a long time. The iPhone 16 E -1 C1 cellular chip – which is special to the device – more effectively acts on strength, which in turn improves significantly.
It was very prominent in my time with it. By the way, the battery capacity of my iPhone 15 has dropped slightly these days, but I limit it to 85 % of the charge overnight. As a result, after almost three hours of hearing, watching, scrolling and texting, my iPhone 15 often spends less than 30 % of the time until 9:30 am.
When I write this it’s 3:30 pm, and with the same battery settings and normal screen on -time, the iPhone 16 E is currently using 44 %.
It seems that my experience fully supports Apple’s own claims, this brand is proud that the iPhone 16 E -26 hours offers video playback – the iPhone 16 22 hours better than 15 % better and 23 % increase compared to the iPhone 15.
Apple intelligence is already very smart, actually
We are still waiting for Ai Siri. And Apple may have to allow users to replace Siri for another default voice assistant party replacement – I wonder how much I enjoyed Apple Intelligence on the iPhone 16E, a combination of iPhone 15 reduction features.
Visual intelligence is helpful, lets you find it quickly or ask about anything that you take in the picture. And the clean feature is useful for removing photoshils or items from any icon, such as a similar Samsung Object Remover Tool, found on new galaxy devices.
And, when I rarely used them, I (mostly) appreciated the answers to the message made from the construction AI and the suggestions of the smart sentences. Highlighting your written text opens up a row of AI -powered options by clicking on the Apple Intelligence logo (or ‘writing tools’). In any app it can make your text more friendly, professional or comprehensive.

In addition, and especially at the time of writing notes, whether its ability to format the text in the key points, list or a table. You also have the option of writing text with Chat GPT.
However, I think my favorite thing about Apple Intelligence is that they have the ability to make my own emojis. Called Genmoes, it allows you to change anything – like my own face and other faces regularly found in my camera roll, or a highland cow that is surrounded by flowers – in an emoji or sticker.
As someone who uses emojis much less, I am now a genital maker dinomo. Although the iPhone 16 family’s AI tools and features are far from revolutionary, they are fun and generally useful. This is a small but important advantage for iPhone 16e for iPhone 15.
Bring the action
The last little feature that I think is the action button is the action button. It is also special for the iPhone 15 Pro, Pro Max and iPhone 16 series, like Apple Intelligence.
This easy little button replaces dumb/silent switch from old iPhones. There is nothing revolutionary here: all this offers shortcuts for commonly used features such as silent mode, focus, camera, visual intelligence, torch and any other app, such as Instagram.
Personally, I did not find myself using any of these preset options, and instead compiled the Action Button to control my Doring District Mode.
This is such a small difference – however, unlocking the device, exposing the control center and activating focus is hardly a hard work. However, this is a small change in life that I have fully appreciated-let me activate it without seeing my phone directly.
Winner by division decision
The iPhone 16 e -iPhone 15 competition is in no way knockout by a new model. There are two important reasons that old iPhones can be a better choice for some: display and camera.
The iPhone 16 E has only a single 48MP fusion camera, while the iPhone 15 with a 48MP main camera pair 12MP ultra -wide lens, which is equally useful for Grand Nature shots and is trying to fit the entire family into a picture. Even more importantly, the single lens of 16e means that you can’t take pictures near your friends or dog’s 0.5x zoom.
15 also have a (small) edge at 16E in terms of display, as the latter returns to the iPhone 14 mark display instead of the dynamic island found on later devices. Personally, I don’t mind, but for some users the reason to spend a little more for the iPhone 15. The latter display is bright and (slightly) is even higher – 1179 x 2556 has a maximum brightness of 2,000 nets compared to 1170 x 2532 and 1,200 nets.
Magsaf charging is also missing from the iPhone 16E. It was rumored that it was to make a place for C -One Chip, but then Apple has denied it. Mac World. 16E can still charge wireless, but it lacks magnet.
I never needed a megsaf unless I recently bought a magnetic power bank – which is now useless with the iPhone 16 e. And the users who have a magnetic car mount will probably lose this functionality badly.
Then the iPhone 15 still has a place, and this is an amazing purchase if you can get it close to the price like the iPhone 16E.
It’s still more expensive than her new siblings, though – and until you Really Need telephonic lenses, I think the iPhone 16 is a budget iPhone.
