Metroid Prime 4 is the best example of Switch 2’s varied control capabilities, but you might want to work on your thighs

I clearly remember the scream when Matrod Prime was first revealed on the game cube. “Matrod is not the first person shooter!” People kept crying while comparing it to the Xbox Hall, which was released a year ago. Matrod prime was the first person Commission. He did not need twin stick controls. Instead his lock was on!

Over time, though, the prime series has come close to the first person’s shooter area as it has been prepared. Matrod Prime 3 used WII’s motion controls to keep players directly on the screen, the move aimed at providing PC mouse control precision but in fact it was a bit of a loser. It was quoted in the complete release of the console trinity. Then, with the regeneration of the Metrod prime, the twin stick controls were properly implemented and eventually proved to be the fastest way of the game. (Let’s just neglect Matrod: another M and it’s a terrible Wimota goal)

Now we have Matrod Prime 4, which has another game in the series with 2 switches, with experimental control. For this, Nintendo has implemented the mouse’s ability. Joey 2 allows players to use it like a mouse by turning it towards it and placing it on the surface, the onscreen cursor is transferred to the purpose and shoot on the PC. This is one of the few areas of innovation with the new console and will show that Metrod Prime 4 is a key example of displaying it. I had to try it for myself in the Nintendo Switch 2 event in London, but I’m not yet sure that’s the best way to play.

In the case of pure shooting, mouse control offers a welcome level and accuracy that has not yet been seen in the matrod game. Of course, this is not a game to pop up head shots, but turns and shooting feel sharp and smooth, especially in 120fps performance mode. And it feels like the game is made for such a purpose. You can still lock enemies with the left trigger, but then use mouse controls to improve the goal in a critical way. Boss at the end of the demo – a lighting, tank -like space dacoit that removes a shockwave with a stump – locking his body on his body, but then aimed at specific weak points away from the center. Those points are not always weak, that is, cautious shots are needed. Similarly, there are gates that need four locks when it is shot while locking – like past sports, but these controls are clearly designed around. At least, this setup proves that the switch is capable of accuracy PC level in 2 FPS games… to a degree.

There is no shooting problem, though this short demo is particularly focused. Samos can jump around enemies and, lock on, double jump for dodge. This is strange, however, in the mouse mode with Joey 2, because the leap remains on the B button and a clash is needed to collide with your thumb. Similarly, morph hair (used to spoil energy waves in the boss’s battle) is on the Y button and is strange to reach, while scanning enemies is done with the middle war with X while it is closed. One solution is to keep the left joy down too 2, and then use the l button to jump instead. As a result, it makes it difficult to lock the ZL. Over time, all of this may be fine, but initially it is not an ideal setup – the Easy Button Press is a payment for a clean purpose as the mouse control game adventure increases the roots.

Second problem with mouse control – and it goes to all the switch 2 games that use them – the thigh is used (stay with me). In the Nintendo Switch 2 event, players were sitting on the desk using the mouse control on the mouse pad. He did right, but realisticly I’m not playing switch 2 on a desk, I will be sitting comfortably on my couch. In this way, I played Metrod Prime 4 with each Joey 2 on my thighs. He did a surprisingly good work, despite being at the unequal level, control is still responsible. Nintendo told me that sensitivity can also be compromised, which causes a small move. Nevertheless, the extent to which this method is useful will depend on the size of your thighs: If you do not have such an real estate property to rotate the controller, you will be moving forward on the basis of immediate adjustments instead of smooth, cleansing movements.

I also examined the mouse controls while playing the new mines of the Mario Party Jambur. These are not the most interesting in Moneygams and instead of Nintendo is another way that shows the mouse capabilities: We have arranged the letters in folders, play air hockey, and for example pushing the roles around the power maze. The controls of the mouse were fine, but once again the use of the thigh proved burdensome – with the strict nature of the game, reliable control is a need. The tableplay was definitely better.

Then Nintendo’s wheelchair is a basketball game drag X drive, mainly another growing tech demo. I like this game is a kind of cureo in the launch lineup, and the movement of steering the wheelchair has the meaning of the twin mouse control using Joey 2. I also praised the use of Rimble to imitate the feeling of bending the wheels. Still moving and steering is difficult, and considering this is a team game, unless you often suffer from action – there is no option to bend the camera (your player’s head) waiting for the back. This game is a fun idea that practically fails, while under the table, with the two Joey 2, my thighs are probably attracted to the wrong attention.

Thankfully, there are alternative control options for Matrod Prime 4. Regularly holding the two separate joy -2 to the conventional twin stick controls, while the right side immediately switchs to the mouse’s goal and backwards, so it is quite possible for a replacement based on the situation without interruption. It may be that a tense war layout or bass demand mouse control precision, while the research is more clear. In addition, Joining with ZL 2, traditionally using the pointer using motion controls, such as Matrod Prime 3, allows better accuracy.

Another option is: Pro Controller. I was not able to try it in the event, but considering that it would not have a pointer or mouse functionality, it would probably offer more familiar twin stick control than Metrod Primaster. With full integrity, it is most likely that this is my preferred play style – it’s not the only one I was accustomed to, it will allow me to sit back comfortably to play on a coffee table or to play my feet easily. Of course, such a handheld mode will also work – although Matrod Prime 4 deserves to be viewed on a big screen.

Further, Nintendo has not made it clear which control methods will be available with the game release on the original switch. Mouse control would not be an option, but would probably be pointer control?

Overall, Matrod Prime gives an amazing example of 4 different control options switch 2 different control options provided. I just hope that changes to the control style are not a sign that the series is losing its adventure roots. The demo was likely to offer a full -fledged opening opening from the beginning of the game, as the Samos federation soldiers join the air and the fight against space pirates on the ground. It certainly looks beautiful – the light and reflective structure of Samos’s variety suit looks beautiful – but it seems closer to the Hallow comparison fans two decades ago. I wish to find an anti -alien planet in isolation yesterday, solving morph hair puzzles, and soak in a strange environment matrode games. Mouse control are certainly not necessary.
