Last year, a story broke out that Microsoft was working on a prototype of an Xbox Hand -console that could potentially compete with the valve’s steam deck. However, a new report states that Microsoft is putting its ambitions aside, at least for now, for a dedicated Xbox handheld.
According to Windows CentralMicrosoft is removing its priority from its Xbox Handheld to focus on improving Windows 11 gaming performance on third -party handheld devices, including ASUS project Canon. The report states that Microsoft still has the ambitions of issuing its handheld and is developing additional technology towards this purpose. But for the future of the future, this is not a priority.
There have been rumors about the Xbox handheld consoles for the better part of the last two decades. Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer has confirmed that in the past there were Xbox Hand -Hand Protesty, none of which dropped it out of development.
Spencer acknowledged the possibility last year without direct confirming a new Xbox handheld. He also suggested that any Xbox handheld is still “a few years out.” Recently, Spencer showed how he plays his Xbox Games on Lenovo Legion Go. He also shared his belief that on the Xbox Handheld, “the team can do something real modern”.
Earlier reports have been received that the next generation of Xbox console can support a handheld device, probably like Nintendo’s switch. The latest Windows Central reports suggest that the decision to stop the potential handheld on the next Xbox console was not affected, which could be questioned earlier.
Earlier this year, Sarah Bond, president of the Xbox, suggested that Microsoft’s next home console will offer “largest technical lip” in Xbox history. But for now, Microsoft has yet to disclose any details about the system or when it can be released.
