Microsoft unveils smaller Surfaces: A 12-inch Surface Pro tablet and a 13-inch Surface Laptop

Last year, Microsoft’s surface line -up was an important, thanks to the start of the Copylot+ AIPC Initiative, as well as amazingly capable arm -powered level pro and surface laptop models. But in addition to the addition of OLED and Qualcomm’s new snap dragon chips, the overall design for these surface machines was not really ready. This year it changes, as Microsoft has announced the smaller version of its superficial family: Pro hybrid tablet at a 12 -inch level and a 13 -inch laptop. Clearly, they will not replace the current level of equipment, rather than they are like a compact siblings.

Although they may look slightly smaller than the current 13 -inch -level supporter and a 13.8 -inch level laptop, Microsoft has succeeded in losing a lot of weight. The new 12 -inch level is lighter than the 13 -inch model, which rotates in 1.5 pounds, and the modified surface laptop is 0.3 pounds (2.7 pounds). In particular, the Surface Pro is coming from the Surface Pro X to 0.2 pounds, a device we praised for having a “beautiful” hardware that was cheated by Windows’s horrible arm support in 2019.

Both new devices are strengthened by the eight -core version of the Snapdragon X Plus chip, including 45 Tips NPU and Adreno GPU as well as 16GB RAM. As far as storage is concerned, you can choose from 256GB of 512GB UFS (Universal Flash Storage) options. Unlike SSD in other level devices, you will not be able to upgrade the UFS storage in line.

It’s not just down, either: the smaller screens of both devices are an important step with their older siblings. Surface Pro plays 2,196 with a 12 -inch LCD 1,464 resolution, which is slightly better than 1080p, and is maximized at 90Hz refresh rate. Meanwhile, a 13 -inch -level supporter offers more pixels with 2,880 resolution, 120 HHz refresh rate, and more pixels with an optional OLED upgrade. As far as small level laptops are concerned, it plays an easy 1080p 60Hz LCD. The 13.8 -inch level laptop is 2,304 faster by 1,536 LCD, which can reach 120 hits.

Microsoft has also withdrawn from using the surface connect port with these devices, rather than relying on USB-C charging only. The surface pro and level laptops have two USB-C/USB 3.2 ports, which support 45W and 60W fast charging, respectively. Unfortunately, no USB power adapter is bundled with surface pro, but the surface laptop still comes with its own 45W charger. Similarly, laptop is the only new machine with a USB type-a connection and headphone jack.

The 12 -inch level Pro starts at $ 800, which is technically less than $ 200 than the retail price of 13 -inch model, but strangely, this version is currently on sale at $ 800. As always, you will have to buy a level keyboard separately, which competes at $ 149 more for your level procurement. Microsoft says it has been re -imagined for a 12 -inch tablet, so this time its typing experience may vary.

A 13 -inch -level laptop starts at $ 900, but in another curious turn, large models are currently on sale at $ 800 (less than $ 1,000). Perhaps Microsoft is betting that some people will choose new hardware just because it’s more compact. We have to check out both machines to see if their specific down grades are capable of light weight.
