A handful of switch games are getting pad switch 2 editions, such as the Legend of Zelda: Tear of the State and Kirby and The Forgotten Land. But then, does your original version still work on the switch after paying these upgrades? Thankfully, Nintendo is saying yes, they will still be compatible.
On Nintendo’s websiteThe company described that after upgrading the Nintendo Switch 2 edition, you still have access to both versions of a game. In particular, Nintendo states: “After your upgrade, the original Nintendo Switch game on the Nintendo Switch can still be played, though the features and content of the Nintendo Switch 2 edition can only be played on the Nintendo Switch 2.” The upgrade fee has not yet been revealed (it is possible that they are different in each title), but Nintendo has registered every game so far, receiving switch 2 editions.

The two symptoms of Zeildeda Games-Jungli and King’s Tears will be proud of the breath-better frame rate and resolutions, HDR support, and a new Zelda notice app functionality when their respective switch 2 is playing for 2 editions. Meanwhile, the Kirby and the forgotten land is getting a new story.
Keep in mind that these paid upgrades are not like other Nintendo Games that get a free update for switch 2, such as Super Mario Odisi and Pokémon Scarlett/Wellet. The company has been more ambiguous to these additions, basically saying that they can improve performance or add compatibility to game chat.
