You can share a game to play with a friend locally, but you will need to stay close to the same Wi -Fi network. You can alternately distribute a game through a new game chat feature, but it requires an active nintendo switch online, and not each game can be shared from one system to another.

Local Wireless vs Game Chat Game Share
There are two ways to set your game share on your Nintendo Switch 2, and the first one is through a local wireless connection. As long as your friend and his console is close and is tied up to the same Wi -Fi connection, you can divide your compatible switch 2 or OG switch games into their system.
This means you can play with just one copy of the two games. Only a Nintendo Switch can send 2 games, but the original Nintendo Switch, switch light, and OLED switch models can receive them.

For now, there is not a huge list of compatible sports that can be shared through a game chat. If you were hoping to play Mario Cart World, for example, with just a copy among friends, you’re out of luck right now. However, Nintendo has stated that selected switches will become games “Compatible with Game Share After Free Software Update” Which is expected to mean that there are many newcoming titles.
