The valve has confirmed that your steam password, or other private information, has not been leaked. In the upper part, the valve said that the leakage came from a different source from steam, and that the information associated with your steam account you did not have to worry in any way.
In a statement sent to the game spot, a valve representative said, “Yesterday we were informed about the leakage of old text messages that had previously been sent to steam consumers. We have examined the leak sample and decided that it was not a violation of the steam system.”
Security company Unddarck first reported the alleged leak, wrote on LinkedIn that information was being sold on the Dark Web from 89 million steam accounts. However, the valve has corrected it, as soon as this leak comes from the SMS service, which sends a temporary two element to login codes. The Valve said the phone numbers were leaked, but that any information about your steam account, including the phone number, was tied to the account, was not leaked.
The valve continued the statement, saying that steam users do not need to change their passwords after this fear, but the valve will continue to investigate to determine the origin of the violation. The company recommends that users activate the steam mobile authentic car as it provides a more secure way to verify your account than SMS permission.

“Yesterday we were informed about the leakage of old text messages that were previously sent to steam users. We have examined the leak sample and decided that this is not a violation of the steam system.
We are still digging into the source of this leak, which is complicated by the fact that any SMS messages are uncomfortable in the transit, and is rooted by a number of providers on the way to your phone.
The leak contained old text messages, including a time -consuming code that was only suitable for 15 minutes of timeframes and sent them to phone numbers. The leaked data did not connect phone numbers with a steam account, password information, payment information or other personal data. Old text messages cannot be used to violate your steam account safety, and whenever a code is used to replace your steam email or password using SMS, you will receive confirmation via email and/or steam secure messages.
From a steam point of view, users do not need to change their passwords or phone numbers as a result of this program. Treating any account safety messages is a good reminder that you have not clearly applied as a suspicious. We recommend you to check regularly Steam Account Security Any time
We also suggest that if they are not already, steam users should set the steam mobile authentic, as it gives us the best way to send safe messages about their account and this account safety. “
