NVIDIA’s 50-series desktop GPUs are launching a slightly rocky start, which has quality control problems, performing compared to the final generation, and occasionally melting cables. Its new laptop is led by the GPUS, headed by the flagship RTX 5090, at a similar speed, but with an additional advantage for laptop gamers: performance.
I am testing Razer’s new blade 16 laptop GPU in RTX 5090 laptop GPU, which NVIDIA is using its top tire as a mobile card. With this, my time has been far more limited than I hope, as my first review unit showed some strange graphical irregularities and was suffering from blue screen cracks during basic productive tasks. Navidia sent me an alternative, but I spent less than two days with her with her press time. With what I have seen so far, this is really a little faster than the mobile 4090, but like the desktop 50 series card, its biggest improvement is in DLSS and multi -frame generation instead of RAW performance.
New mobile RTX 5090 GDDR7 vram is 24GB instead of GDDR6’s 16GB 4090. It has also found an additional hardware video encoder for the more powerful tensor core, slightly more CUDA core, and better direct series and video exports, but the same 175w TDP.
The 5090’s synthetic bench mark translates more than 4090 small benefits, such as a 13 % more gack bench GPU score and a 3DMark standard time spy test score 14 % more in 1440 resolution.
LI to test the development of 5090 in original sports, I run a row using benchmark Cyberpank 2077 And Black Mutk: Wokong – Both blades in the 16s of 2560 x 1600 and the alien ware on the AW3225QF monitor. The biggest difference I saw was Cyberpank 2077 2.5K Resolution and Ultra Settings Enable with DLSS, Frame Generation, or Ray Transing. There, there was 24 % faster than 5090 4090. It sounds great, but once you enable the ray tracing and DLSS4 (most people do on one of these two laptops), it only leads to a 5 % delta. When you enable the 2x frame generation, 5090 is more than 14 % faster, and the 4x multi -frame is going more than the highest doubles, which can do in the 4090 2x frame general. If you are playing at 4K, 5090 still wins, but the space is tight in one digit.

Black Mutk: WokongOn the other hand, a little forgiveness. In the RPG associated with the souls that are demanding, it is only a few percent faster than 5090 4090. The 5090 most average DLSS and standard frame generation had 111FPs at 2.5K, with 4090 if not more than 104. Wokong There is no doubt in the supported multi -frame generation, 5090, but it is likely to be possible. Add additional mills of a couple of delays. Most people will never care for or care about it, but some players may feel that their pinpoint Dodge is a non -starter to any delay in the dodge roll timing.
Like 50 series desktop cards, 5090 laptop looks excellent in GPU games that support DLSS 4 multi -frame generation. More than 100 games now support NVIDIA’s prominent feature, and you can also use over -ride settings in the NVIDIA app to force unmarried sports.
Frame Generation, which offers both NVIDIA and AMD, uses AI models to develop additional frames and enter them between traditionally offered frames. This gives the appearance of a smooth gameplay but does not improve the delay in the input – and in fact it increases a little. AMD and previous NVIDIA card 2x frames can be generated. Can do up to 50 series 4X. There is an ongoing debate in the world of PC gaming about these “fake frames”. I think it depends on your personal experience, what kind of games do you like to play and what you are playing on them, and even your eye (or even a caregiver). This can be great for the right sports, and it can also make more meaning on a 16 -inch laptop screen than the Jumbo 4K monitor in front of your face.
I forced a multi -frame generation The killer’s profession shadowAnd I was pleasantly surprised at the ultra -settings and the butteries were smooth. Shadow It may be a great example of a single player game where the frame generation is a nanso. It has found dodge rolling, but this is not a kind of game that really requires the frame perfect time. He felt a good one for me, and the boy feudal Japan looked beautiful on an average of 167 FPS’s 2.5k OLED.
There are clear sports competitive shooters to avoid frame generation. While I felt right to play Miracle competitors With a 4x frame generation at 5090, approximately 200fps, I was playing with a hero to a great extent that does not require precision accuracy. For something like that Bravery Or Counter strike 2I will advise it. But the fair thing is, these highly competitive sports usually hinder low performance for admission and practically run on potatoes.
An area where 5090 seems to be significantly better well known is the power performance. In our standards, the new GPU had an average of 20 to 29 percent less than 4090. This should help improve battery life while playing a game away from the power cord.

The bottom can also mean low temperatures, as I was able to play games with a plugin laptop in my original lap and not toast my legs. But it also depends on the thermal design of an individual laptop and how well it is cool – so far the blade 16 performs it well, but it has a very different design from the 2024 model with 4090. Of course, you will not be able to see the same level of performance when playing graphically extreme games on the battery power. I have to look more more to see how much it does make in the real world use.
RTX 5090 is the most powerful and expensive laptop GPU of NVIDIA, and you can expect to pay 000 4,000 or more for a laptop running. Blade 16 Review Setting Expenses 4,499.99. It shows some promises to the games that support DLSS 4 and multi -frame generation, and may be for gaming that is not always connected to the wall. But if I am shopping right now, I will not ignore the heavy discount on the RTX 4090 laptop. (On the other hand, 4090 desktop supply has dried up.)
We will continue to test the remaining 50 series mobile GPUs along with the RTX 5090 as they appear in the new gaming laptop model in the next few weeks and months. I am especially looking forward to testing RTX 5080, and seeing whether this is a sweet place for laptop gamers.
