The following icons were added to the home menu for new features:
Virtual Game Card
The purchased Nintendo Switch digital software, DLC, and some free software, are now virtual game cards and are shown on a list in the menu.
You can, in practice, load and remove the virtual game card between the two Nintendo switch systems.
Virtual Game Card can be given to others in the same Nintendo Account Family Group. For more information, see the Virtual Game Card Guide.
The game share
Compatible software can be shared in the Nintendo Switch 2 system to another nearest system (language) to play together.
You can only play together through local wireless, and the Nintendo Switch 2 system has to start the game share.
This feature cannot be used between two Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch – OLED model and/or Nintendo switch light system.
User verification settings were added under the user> User Settings.
You can limit access to the Virtual Game Card menu by need to enroll or sign in to your Nintendo account.
Online license settings were added.
When on, you can play downloaded software or DLC that you have purchased while the system is connected to the Internet, even if you do not have a virtual game card.
More information, please see details about the option on the system settings screen.
The home menu has changed the Nintendo Ashp and Nintendo Switch News icon color.
Multiple -secured data can be selected and transmitted together in the menu “transfer your secure data”.
System Settings> Nintendo Switch 2 has a system transfer under the system.
You can perform the system transfer from your Nintendo Switch 2 to your Nintendo Switch using local communication.
For those users who will lose access to their Nintendo Switch before getting their Nintendo Switch 2, a dedicated server has an option to upload system transfer data after which they can be recovered on their Nintendo Switch 2. When you upload your system transfer data to the dedicated server, the Nintendo switch system will be launched in the factory setting, you will be able to complete this transfer.
If you want to continue using your Nintendo Switch unless you have a Nintendo Switch 2, we recommend completing the system transfer using local communication after you get the Nintendo Switch 2 system.
Internet connection and Nintendo account are required to complete both local and server -based system transfer service.
For more information, see system transfer from Nintendo Switch to Nintendo Switch 2.
The appearance of some user icons has been updated.
