On March 19, American truck simulator developer SCS software posted a short, mysterious teaser video full of engine noise, which set the community in a very speculative manner. Now, about a month later, the giant has revealed that it is tampering for a project called “Road Trip”, which allows you to travel the highways from behind the wheel of ordinary street cars.
“In the past, we have shared our ambitions to expand ways to engage with the game world – not only by running class 8 trucks and preventing cargo, but also by finding the same world through a variety of cars and experiences,” Announcement post.
“The road trip represents one step in this direction. Once introduced, it should allow players to enjoy not only 18 wheels taxi but also behind the wheels.

The announcement includes photographs of some of the various vehicles in the work, and the gods have quickly made notes that it is still in the early stages of development. But they are already thinking about new gameplay mechanics to encourage research, and one of the initial concepts is the “Explororation Journal” that will unlock the therapist postcards when you leave.
Ever since he first launched in 2016, and I have enjoyed the most as a road trip simulator. Its 1:20 Scale map works an incredible task to capture the driving spirit through the United States, and is able to do it without a soft pressure to carry steel loads on time.
Of course, the SCS is not abandoning the “truck” section of the American truck simulator, as the studio has “gathered a dedicated team” to work specifically on the Road Trip Project. But as much as I like to roll up 18 wheels all over the United States, I am starting to think that this can really be the final form of the game.
