To say that I am familiar with the 1000x line of Sony’s headphones will be a small thing. I have tested every pair so far, except OG :. With each other model, the company managed to add new features, develop better technology and enhance the sound capabilities of its flagship headphones. And with each new release, Sony retains her place in the list of the best wireless headphones.
This time, Sony waited for us more than usual. The first three sets of 1000x headphone came in each. Then it was partially delayed through the Coid Poetry Diseases, and then about two more before the beginning of the new design. We are three years out of this last model and today Sony is finally revealing follow-up: Wh-1000xm6 ($ 450).
The extended interval is understandable once Sony considers the number of updates included to restore her pride and happiness. A new processor, more microphone, improved noise cancellation (ANC), better design and a retired sound platform. Those changes are included in the long list of features that Sony has accumulated on the 1000x line in the past years, many of which are automatically adapted when active, and many who provide great convenience in daily use. Other companies may have surpassed Sony in audio quality (at least so far), but none of the competition offers a collection of tools that even come close to WH-1000xm6.

Design updates
At first glance, the WH -000xm6 does not look much different from M5, but there are some notable opportunities that improve comfort and storage. First, there is a wide, non -proportional headband that makes these headphones easier to wear longer. The previous model was already lightweight, and it continues here. With the new head band, it provides a comfortable fit that defeats every other wireless headphone.
Subsequently, Sony returned to her folding design, which was used in the old 1000x model. With recent models, the company chose to roam the cups before going to the headphones. They still do so, but they are easily involved in storage. Because of this change, the company designed a small case, and instead of zip, Sony chose magnetic closure.
One of the complaints about the design I have is how the ear cups rotate. When you turn on WH -000xm6, the cups rotate inside to lie down. To me, it should be the opposite, the ear pads are turning down, because in the same way you will put them in this matter. This is a change by M5, where the cups of the ear are turned into a that I understand correctly, making this switch an even more confused choice of this new model.
Sony mostly kept control over WH -000xm6, which saves for some small modifications. First of all, the company still uses a mixture of physical buttons and touch panels outside each cup. With the former, only two options power (which doubles as a Bluetooth pair) and the noise control button that rotate through ANC, acidic sound and off.
This power button was re -designed so it is now big, round and round. It makes it easier to find through contact and makes it different from the noise control button. Moreover, Sony has added the ability to silence/immunize the microphone at M6 during calls by pressing the noise control button. The sound quality was improved
When it comes to good quality, the 1000x line has never been crushed, and Sony has taken steps to permanently improve audio performance in the past years. With WH-1000xm6, the company made changes to three sectors to further promote the sound profile. First, Sony developed new drivers for the M6, which says “offer more details and clear sounds.” The reason is that the company has described the driver’s voice as a high frequency produced by perforation in the coil. And for these ingredients, there is a better balance in the sound thanks to a more rigorous dome.
The company also added three recording studios mastering engineers to help tune the voice profile of 1000xm6. They all supported the audio quality of these headphones in various references, but the general purpose here was to provide results that were close to the artist’s intention. This includes more great sounds and better details. To further help, Sony also added 360 local sound for stereo material on M6. Basically, this feature can transform regular content into local audio. This is something that Bose does to itself, and it is different from promoting 360 reality audio support and DSEE extreme compression.

There is a significant improvement in ANC performance on M6 – this is not just marketing hype. I can easily tell that headphones are preventing more background noise in their predecessor, which is not always the case in 1000x races. Although it does not completely silence them, it is still an upgrade in performance. The company has been running for Bose for a while for a while, and M6 further describes the fact that the noisy weapons race is far closer than ever.

The company says it trained its model on 500 million sound samples so that the system could properly remove the user’s sound. In practice, call performances is a mixed bag. First, the M6 does a great job to stop the noise of the background. He completely silenced a fast fan during one of my tests. However, this processing affects the overall explanation, so you will not look as good as you do in quiet places. In addition, the consequences of sound conditions are not ancient, but for most call scenes, it is so good.
Sony has brought back the easy automation features, which has made its flagship headphone the best option for years. Inclusive sound control can automatically adjust the settings based on activity or location, such as when you arrive at the office or when you are out for a walk. The intense sound is still pleasant, natural standard and helps continue to continue during blacks. The Spec to chat volume continues to reduce the volume and when you find your voice, it stimulates the transparency mood, though it is still very easily caused by cough and when you clean your throat. You can also use the head gestures (NOD) or to reject calls (shakes). Battery life
One of the few things that is not changed to WH -000xm6 is a battery life. Like M5, this model offers for up to 30 hours with ANC or up to 40 hours with it. The quick charge function is also the same: three minutes give you three hours. I had no problem in targeting the figures mentioned during my tests, which were mainly enabled by the ANC as well as Sony’s DSE Extrium audio -applising. I occasionally switch to transparency mode for calls, but 80 % was in noise in time. After 25 hours of use, I still have 50 % left in the tank.
When it comes to battery and charging performance, Sony tweeted. At M6, you will be able to listen to music while charging the headphones. This functionality was not available earlier, and it is definitely sure to provide some extra facilities in a pinch – like you are waiting for your flight to a sharp airport terminal.
Comparison
Whether it be kisses, boosers and wilkins or chestnas, there are many companies that are close to the Sony’s crown with each product cycle. I am convinced that Sony has crossed Bose in terms of pure performance of the noise, but still he is very good and can be found regularly in less than his $ 449 recommended retail price. I do not care about the design, but the headphones double the battery life of the M6, which boots a large amount of audio and ANC performance. And they do this for less than WH -000xm6.
It leads me to this. The company’s PX7 S2e was my choice of the best sound headphone for a while, and was recently helped. The S3 edition offers speculation and ANC performance, but I have not yet experienced them and there is no clear indication of how much they will cost or when they will arrive. Nevertheless, if you are not in a hurry, the PX7 S3 may be able to wait as it should be slightly cheaper than the M6 and Bors & Wilkins has a strong track record for sound quality.

With WH-1000xm6, a three-year long wait was worth it. The company has benefited significantly in both sound quality and noise performance to thank a powerful new chip. Listen, but effective design adaptation enhances comfort, while promoting local audio further expands the sound capabilities of the 1000x line. The only actual negative aspect is that the price continues to rise: $ 50 higher than the M6 M5.
