It doesn’t matter if you already knew about it or not – Joel’s death in the last of the American Season 2 is completely heartbreaking. And it could have been even more surprising, but when photographing such an important moment for the story, director Mark Milewad wanted to “avoid overturning”.

For the director, the “most frightening” and “extremely satisfactory” thing in this event is that “close -up on Bella” when he realizes that Joel is dead. “It will be with me forever – and hopefully with some audience.”
