The Last of Us season 2 Review: "Brilliant and visceral but fails to capture the magic of season 1"

The last season 1 of the American season can be very well lowed in the history of 1 as one of the best video game adaptations so far, but also one of the best Distopian Science Fi shows so far. Following the events of the most successful game of the naughty dog-the last part of the US-1-first season, the story of a grieving smuggler and a stubborn orphan was told in the world that was destroyed by the disease and with half the dead humanitarian, which established a beautiful and unprecedented relationship.

This story continues in the last part of the American part 2, but it takes the worst turning point, and becomes an undeniable story of loss and revenge. Season 2 gives the second game more than seven turmoil, but instead of withdrawing after the horrific events of the end of Season 1, we live close to the source content and five years angry, 19 -year -old Eli (Bella Ramsey) and the tough, defeated Joel (Pedro Passal).

On the way, we have been introduced to a new crop of characters, including mysterious Abe (Catlin Dour) and my brutal pirates, as well as Jackson’s new residents (Isabella Merceded) and Jesse (Young Mazino). Nevertheless, despite the scenes of similar spectacular performances and destructive violence, the last part of the American Season 2 fails to capture the magic of Season 1.

From the batting, it is not difficult to feel the grave amount of the capabilities contained in the cast: every new performance, no matter how small, stand in its own special way. But especially there are two that I can’t stop thinking about: giving, which is hard -headed and heartbroken, and Isaac (Jeffrey Wright), who only knows how to bring pain and fear.

Din and Eli begin as a friend, but both slowly and physically develop something else – and their relationship becomes the brightest light in this dark, dastopian world. It may be that Joel and Eli Season 1 have a heart, but Eli and Dina are the heart of Season 2. Merced and Ramsey have undeniable chemistry, and are playing with each other in a way that really encourages happiness in the viewer. Eli is hard head and strong aspiring, of course, but giving he is And Further- And it is not afraid to check the most important fact.

Wright, which also portrays Isaac in the last part of the American Part 2, lives more than his horrible video game counterpart. From the moment he arrives in a particularly explosive scene, he has brought his harassment to a young serifite, it is unclear that the victim is no longer the most terrifying creature in this universe. From a character point of view, Joel feels more flaws in Season 2, perhaps to add more emotional weight and intensity to the story as a whole. Although it certainly resonates with Joel’s cool video game counterpart, it feels like a soft departure, and more like Joel, which was created by Mazen and Dirkman, created for the screen.

I understand how difficult it should be for the screen not only to adopt the video game, but also to capture the emotional intensity like the video game story and the gameplay. A portion of it that makes the last part 2 so intense and unique is the difference of playing as Eli and Abe – on the contrary, yes, at the end of the day, they are not so different.

Season 2 takes more interest in tieving the loose heads of Joel and Eli’s story, as well as Abe works as much as a car to move the plot instead of a new and important main character. This does not help that Season 2 have only seven episodes, and that the end feels short and suddenly – and ends on a hill that doesn’t really feel earned.

The last number of American Season 2 is good, but, unlike its predecessor, it fails to be great. The magic of Season 1 is there, but it does not kill the same. It is destructive and visible, with the beautiful performances of Ramsey and Mercedes, but Pascal and Dour have been reduced. There is no need to say that we feel like the last preview of the American part 2, rather than the actual adaptation. I have high hopes for things to come, but I can’t help, but I feel a little disappointed with the onscreen story and their choice. Still, we Endurance and living.
