Direct action is now the release date of the Legend of Zelda Movie. The film is set to come to theaters on March 26, 2027. This is a year after the Super Mario Bruce 2 movie surfaced in April 2026, which means that at least two years will be Nintendo’s big films in cinemas.
The release date for the Zelda Movie has been confirmed in the Nintendo Today app.
The Zelda movie will be directed by Wes Ball, who is known for his work on the Maze Runner series. Nintendo and Sony Pictures are co -financing the film, with Nintendo’s financial stakes more than 50 %. Sony Pictures will distribute the film globally.
Ball has said that he wants to swing direct action with the Legend of Zelda Movie for the aesthetics, as well as “feel like a fact. However, that means it remains to be seen.”
Earlier, Ball had teased his vision for the Zelda film. “I have this amazing idea,” he said. “I’ve been thinking about it for a long time, how cool Zelda’s movie will be … I want to fulfill the biggest wishes of the people. I know that this (Zelda) franchise is essential with people and I want it to become a serious movie. A real movie that can make people escape.”
Neither Nintendo nor Sony Pictures have released a summary of the official plot for the Zelda film. But it is a safe prerequisite that the film will feature the famous RPG series, including Zelda and Link, as well as Ganondor. The Zelda series is full of amazing characters and atmosphere, and it would be interesting to see how Nintendo decides to tell the story, or if the film can be a compromise for a particular game.
No casting announcements have been made about direct action Zelda film. However, fans have said that Ufuria actor Hunter Sheffer may prove to be a strong candidate to play Zelda.
“It will be very good. I personally like the game,” Sheffer said to the fan casting. Actor Hailey Joel Osmont has made his name forward to play the link in the film.
In other news in Nintendo, the switch 2 is being launched this year, and it is expected that Nintendo will display many more details during the Nintendo’s direct event on April 2. On March 27, there was a Nintendo Direct, which revealed a new feature of game sharing for Switch 2 and had many more announcements.
