Tomb Raider developer Crystal Dynamics lays off 17 employees ‘to better align our current business needs and the studio’s future success’

Crystal Dynamics, which is currently working on a new game of a perfect Dark Reboot and Tamb Rider, has announced a holiday for 17 employees.

“This morning, Crystal Dynamics made a difficult decision to reduce our workforce through 17 talented members of the team,” the studio said in a message posted. X. “We did not make this decision lightly. Finally, this move was necessary to improve its current business needs and the future success of the studio. This is not a reflection of the dedication or ability of the affected people.”

The last five years have not been kind to the crystal dynamics. Marvel’s Avengers, direct service superhero games that were debuted in 2020 (and the last big project of the CD) performed poorly and were removed from sales just three years later. Meanwhile, the studio itself was acquired by Embresser in 2022, and when Tamb Raider was finally put into the hands of the studio, it was also less than a year before the notorious Billion of the throat billion 2 billion “rough night”, in which several studios were closed and closed.
